Project Overview

ECM, Leighton Contractors and terminal owner CBH Limited, worked as an integrated team to design, construct and upgrade facilities at CBH’s Albany Port Grain Terminal.

The contract included the design and construction of ten new steel cells to provide an additional 60,000 tonnes of storage capacity to the terminal along with upgrades to conveyors, grain elevators and ship loaders. Dust control systems, mechanical instrumentation and electrical control systems were also enhanced.

Transport access was improved with the construction of upgraded rail facilities and new road in loading facilities. The upgrade allowed greater storage capacity for improved operating efficiency during harvest periods and created a safer working environment.

Scope of Work

  • Installation of in loading and out loading equipment including conveyors, bulk elevators and shiploaders.
  • Complete design of all electrical equipment throughout the facility including conveyor controls, distribution boards, switch rooms, small power and lighting.
  • Testing and commissioning of all equipment and systems for the facilities upgrade.
