Lae LNG Power Station is located near Morobe Province, the second largest city in Papua New Guinea. ECM was awarded the electrical and instrumentation installation works for the extension to the existing standby power plant in Lae, PNG.

Local support played a large part in assisting ECM to complete the project in providing labour and assistance to manoeuvre equipment into place. ECM engaged approximately 25 PNG nationals throughout the duration of the project and provided considerable employment opportunities for the Lae population.

The completion of the 12MW power station was a step forward in providing an uninterrupted supply of power to the Lae people and in developing its regional centre.
