Project Overview

Northern Territory Power and Water Authority contracted MAN Diesel to install three dual fuel (gas diesel) 10.9MW engines at the Owen Springs Power Station, located near Alice Springs in Australia´s Northern Territory.

The duel fuel engines provide the flexibility required for generating power in remote locations, as it is capable of operating on both liquid and gaseous fuels. The power station operates on natural gas as its primary fuel source, however, in the event of a gas supply interruption, the engines seamlessly transitions to operate on diesel fuel without any loss of output to the power station.

MAN Diesel awarded ECM Balance of Plant installation works for the project.
