Project Overview

Anglo Gold Australia (AGA) owns and operates a gold mine at the Sun Rise Dam (SRD) in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia. The mine is approximately 55km south from Laverton. The current mine is supplied from six power stations on site, total of 22MW.

Energy Developments Limited (EDL) are contracted by AGA to provide a new gas inlet and distribution system and a new power station adjacent to the existing power station. The new power station (SRDPS7) will provide an addition 8.6MW of power to the mine site.

EDL have awarded the contract to Energy Power Systems (EPSA) who will supply the Caterpillar Gas Engines. EPSA will supply these units to ECM who are contracted to provide the EPC for all site works including civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation (CSMPEI) construction. The power station will be operational by mid 2018.
