Project Overview
To meet the increased demand of bulk commodity exports, the Port Hedland Port Authority developed a multi user port facility on Finucane Island involving:
- All site infrastructure including substations, control rooms, offices, workshop and amenities
- A multi-user stockyard facility at Utah Point for truck dumped ore handling
- An overland conveying system from stockyard to shiploader
- A state of the art material sampling facility
- A new wharf at Utah Point to accommodate Panamax vessels
- A multi-product shiploader and tripper
Scope of Work
In order to facilitate these works, ECM was contracted to complete:
- Project and construction management of all SMPEI works
- Design management – detailed design of structural steel, modular buildings, tanks and truck wash
- Construction works for all electrical, instrumentation, communications, fire detection and security works on the Utah Point site
- Commissioning
